What’s on in September for the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast

There’s plenty of things to do this September at the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast. Swell Sculpt Festival on the Gold Coast, Noosa Jazz Festival on the Sunshine Coast and the Brisbane Festival.

Gold Coast

5th September: FMX and Monster Truck Spectacular

Enjoy Extreme Monster Truck Spectacular, Death Riders, Hypnotic Laser Light Show, Fireball Firedancers, Aerial Angels and much more. Doors open at 5pm at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

6th September: Beach Bash Gold Coast – CAN’T MISS

Australia’s sandiest obstacle challenges, an event for the whole family. Stretching 4 km with 36 exciting obstacles on the beach of North Kirra. Tickets prices start at $20 for children and event runs from 7am – 1 pm.

11th September: Swell Sculpture Festival

Experience monumental and memorable sculptures at the 13th Swell Sculpture Festival. Set amongst the iconic landscape at Currumbin Beach. Free to the public and also includes performance art, music, yoga amongst the sculpture and tempting delights.

19th September: Screamworld

The best thrill there is, is on Dreamworld’s Big 9 Thrill Rides and they are even scarier in the dark. There’s popular family attractions for all ages, not just the thrill seekers. From the Mad Jungle Jam Ball Playhouse and DreamWorks character appearances, to The Claw, Wipeout, Giant Drop and other favourites, there’s plenty to do to keep you screaming all night.

26th September: Opera in The Park

Sit under the stars and enjoy some incredible opera talents at Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach from 6pm. The evening also features some classic Broadway shows such as Phantom of the Opera and many more. It’s a musical experience for all ages.

26th – 27th September: Gatorade Queensland Tri Series – Round 1 Robina

The Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series is back for the new 2015-2016 season. The 2 day event consists of Open Water Swims on the Saturday and then on the Sunday there’s four different triathlon events. Anyone can enter!

 

Sunshine Coast

3rd – 6th September: Billabong Parko Grom Stomp

A national event attracting grommet (kids) surfers from all states of Australia and across the world.

3rd – 6th September: Noosa Jazz Festival – CAN’T MISS

Relax in Noosa for four days of jam-packed jazz music concerts at the Noosa Jazz Music Festival at Noosa Lions Park. It’s completely FREE and everyone can come!

6th September: Sealife Free Entry

Sealife at Mooloolaba is one of the best visitor attractions on the Sunshine Coast and it’s FREE this father’s day. Bring your father down to see sharks, turtles, sea snakes, sting rays and many more.

13th September: Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast

IRONMAN Sunshine Coast shows all the aspects of Mooloolaba’s coastline. The competition starts off with swim off the surf beach then followed by a bike course. Lastly is a two lap run around Mooloolaba’s Esplanade.

20th September: The Caloundra Street Fair

The best street market highlighting over 200 unique stalls. This ‘must do’ event has activities for the whole family including live entertainment and street theatre.  Hosted in Bulcock Street.

23rd – 25th September: Flip Side Circus – Stories from the Sky

Flip Side Circus have returned with an all new show, filled with stories of dreams, friendship and tales of memory plus remarkable juggling performances and spectacular aerials.

 

Brisbane

1st – 7th September: Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show

Experience a floral wonderland inside one of Brisbane’s oldest shopping destinations – The Queen Street Mall.

3rd September: Brisbane Broncos versus Storm

The Brisbane Broncos will take on Storm at Suncorp Stadium.

3rd – 6th September: Brisbane Boat Show

Come down to Queensland’s largest marine showroom for the Brisbane Boat Show.  The event will take place at the Brisbane Showground.

5th September: Imagine Dragons Concert

Imagine dragons are playing at the Riverstage in Brisbane.

5th – 26th September: Brisbane Festival – CAN’T MISS

Brisbane Festival is here! It’s filled with music, theatre, dance, comedy, opera, circus and more. This family-friendly event has been an annual event since 2009 and only gets better every year. The popular Sunsuper Riverfire light show is an incredible event that should not be missed.

27th September: Wiz Khalifa

The American rapper, Wiz Khalifa, is coming to the Brisbane Riverstage.
