Experience a wondrous display of over 50 sculptures built by local, national and international artists at the 14th annual Swell Sculpture Festival along Currumbin Beach 9 – 18 September, 2016. The free exhibition is open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they are lit up under the southern sky.
Over 10 days, visitors can experience the sculptures, enjoy twilight walks, informative artist talks, discover new perspectives, wander through the Swell Smalls Gallery and participate in artist master classes and childrens’ workshops.

Kids Week 17th– 23rd September 2016
Kids will reign supreme at Surfers Paradise this September school holidays, as the world-renowned holiday playground hosts Kids Week 2016, from Saturday 17 to Friday 23 September.
With seven days of free, family-friendly entertainment the bumper program will feature daily live shows, amusement rides, interactive workshops and more spread throughout the Surfers Paradise precinct!

Ironman 70.3 World Championships 9th – 12th June 2016
Perfectly located in the heart of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba Beach offers the perfect year-round climate and is an ideal location for a sporting event, a relaxing family vacation or just a great place to escape to. The relaxing atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast, the friendly people and the endless scenic beauty of Mooloolaba Beach make it a hugely popular destination to visit.
Competitors will take in the best that Mooloolaba has to offer, starting with a swim at Mooloolaba’s spectacular surf beach. The ocean swim consists of a one-lap course following a counter-clockwise direction. The bike course will be a challenging one lap route incorporating a flat and fast section on the Sunshine Motorway prior to an undulating lap through the hinterland.
From transition, runners will head north and onto the iconic Mooloolaba Esplanade. After heading over the scenic Alexandra Headland hill, athletes will continue to Cotton Tree via Sixth Avenue and Alexandra. Athletes will follow the same route for the second lap along striking shores and a spectator-lined course before finishing in the heart of Mooloolaba

National Youth Touch Championships – 14th – 18th September 2016
Players for this event are selected from previously played events, such as interschool tournaments, gala days and state school championships, as organised and hosted by their respective states.
Hosted by Touch Football Australia, the tournament is an 18 and under competition that is held annually and allows young participants to compete at the highest level, and offers them the chance to be selected in the National Youth Squads.
