More than 50 rock’n’roll and rockabilly bands from across Australia will perform alongside special guest international artists from around the world. Over 1,300 cars will line the streets for one of the biggest car displays ever staged in Australia.

Gold Coast Sixes             10th– 13th June 2016

The best 3 day, 4 night, 6-a-side cricket carnival on the planet!Teams from around Australia and overseas will take part in 3 days (6 games) of 6-a-side cricket and 4 nights partying in Surfers Paradise. Australia Open – Lawn Bowls     10th – 24th June 2016

The biggest bowls competition on the planet has a new home on the Gold Coast from 2015 to 2019, marking the first time the sport’s premier event will be held outside of Victoria in its ten-year history.

Following the success of the 2015 Australian Open, the first time the event was held as completely open to enter, the 2016 Australian Open promises to be bigger and better than ever! Bowlers can again look forward to competing in open singles, pairs and fours disciplines, along with a number of other disciplines that will be run alongside the open events.

Broadbeach Country Music Festival        17th – 19th June 2016

Uniquely combining ‘Country with the Coast’ the beachside event is free to attend, showcasing premier Country Music performers on a number of outdoor stages and in venues throughout the entire Broadbeach precinct.

Etchells Australasian Winter Championshiops    9th – 12th June 2016

The winter championships are an annual yachting event held in Mooloolaba each year. The fierce competition consist of 6 races ran over 3 days with a fleet of 40 plus boats. This event attracts top level sailors from Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Downunder Beachfest  9th – 13th June 2016

The Downunder Beachfest is a Retro Festival celebrating Hot Rod & Classic Car Culture. The event was developed in 2015 as an alternative to the super successful and oversubscribed, annual “Cooly Rocks” event, held at Coolangatta. This event is a continuation of Wintersun, a nostalgic music, dance and classic car festival that has spanned more than four decades.

Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show           10th – 12th June 2016

‘Celebrate and Grow’ is the theme of this year’s 110th Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show, the coast’s best and biggest show, delivering three fun-filled, family-friendly, affordable days and evenings. Ticket prices remain unchanged and traditional activities are supplemented with free in-show programming – ‘Anzac Dawn’, a specially commissioned, all-age production runs nightly, there’s a Farmers’ Feature, interactive Kids’ Farmer’s Trail, Celebrity Chef Matt Golinski, Motor Mountain, Pet Expo, Woodchopping, Trots, HorsesvUtes, live music, showbags and more! Parkway Drive Concert –  17th June 2016

Parkway Drive have announced their ‘All Aussie Adventure’ tour, which will reach Lake Kawana Community Centre on Friday 17 June 2016. Doors open 6pm.


International Rally of Queensland          17th – 19th June 2016

Run originally out of Brisbane, since 1997 the rally has showcased the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The warm winter climate, superb beach and hinterland settings and resort facilities make IROQ a most popular destination on the FIA APRC and ARC calendars. It’s the longest-running round of the national championship.

Queensland State Club Gymnastics Championships and Border Challenge           24th – 29th June 2016

The Queensland State Club Gymnastics Championships and the Border Challenge are staged annually and have been conducted on the Sunshine Coast since 2007. The championships attract gymnasts from 120 clubs across Queensland as well as from interstate and overseas.


57th Australian National Square Dance Convention        29thJune – 3rd July 2016

Queensland will be hosting the 57th Australian National Square Dance Convention at Buderim in the centre of the Sunshine Coast just 90 km north of Brisbane. In a sub-tropical region the near perfect weather in June-July will mean an extremely hospitable environment for our Convention with average daily temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius (68F). Our Convention’s theme will be “TRUE BLUE” and we promise you an unforgettable “fair dinkum” Aussie experience.

MS Brissie to the Bay 19th June 2016

The MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride has been part of the Brisbane cycling scene for over two decades. Not only is it loved by families for its fun and friendly atmosphere, the 100km distance provides a scenic route to the Bay for the more experienced riders.
