What’s on in February for the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast?
There’s plenty of things to do on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast this February. There’s the Sand Safari on the Gold Coast, the Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers pre-season trial game on the Sunshine Coast and the musical production of Cats in Brisbane.
5th – 28th February: Sand Safari – CAN’T MISS
Indulge in some unique art at the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships from the 5th to 28th February. These sand sculptures will be located along the Gold Coast Sand Trail, starting at Surfers Paradise. There will be Sand Safari favourites including Kung Fu Panda and Dreamworks friends. This is a fun family outing for all ages.
14th February: Valentine’s Day Hot Air Balloon Event
Hot air ballooning is available with Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast as well as a private champagne breakfast in Canungra Valley Vineyard at O’Rielly’s Historic Homestead. What’s more romantic than that for Valentine’s Day?
25th – 28th February: RACV Ladies Golf Masters Gold Coast
The RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, is hosting the RACV Ladies Golf Masters this year on the 25th until 28th February. This one of the most known professional golf tournaments in Australia, where players from over 25 countries come to compete in this women’s golf tournament.
27th February: Gold Coast MS Swimathon
The MS Swimathon is back this year to again support and help people living with MS (multiple sclerosis. Anyone can participate in this event by swimming as many laps as they can and donating. The event will be located at The Sports Super Centre at Runaway Bay, Gold Coast.
6th – 7th February: Gatorade Queensland Tri Series – Round 6
The Caloundra Power Boat Club is hosting round 6 of the Gatorade Queensland Tri Series. Anyone from all ages and abilities can participate in this triathlon. This is family friendly event.
12th February: NRL Sportsmans Lunch
Sports Journalist, Tony Durkin, is hosting the NRL Sportsman’s Lunch for the players and coaches of Melbourne Storm and Wests Tigers to get together before the NRL pre-season trial game tomorrow. The public can buy tickets to attend the lunch and meet some of their favourite NRL players. This NRL Sportsman’s Lunch is being held at Lake Kawana Community Centre from 12.30pm.
13th February: Melbourne Storm v Wests Tigers – CAN’T MISS
Melbourne Storm will be playing Wests Tigers in the pre-season trial game at the Sunshine Coast Stadium. Game starts at 5pm.
29th January – 15th February: Cats – CAN’T MISS
Cats, the musical, is coming to QPAC from the 29th January until 15th February. This family friendly show is a must see production.

11th – 13th February: Flickerfest 2016
The 25th International Short Film Festival, Flickerfest, is back this year at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts. The best of short films will be showcased so be sure to take hold of this chance to view these incredible films.
13th February: Coot-tha Burn Brisbane 2016
Mt. Coot-tha is a favourite destination for most cyclists, therefore there is now a 2km time trial ascending Mt. Coot-tha. This will determine each cyclists “burn” time to decide who will win the grand prize of $40,000. Anyone can participate in this event.
13th February: 2016 Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars
The 2016 Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars is back at Suncorp Stadium. The best indigenous rugby league players will be playing the NRL All Stars.
13th February: Boy & Bear
The alternative rock band of Boy & Bear will be playing at the Brisbane Riverstage on the 13th February.
16th February: John Mellencamp
Brisbane Riverstage will be hosting John Mellencamp as he sings his combination of rock and pop music on the 16th February.
19th February – 24th February: Cinderella
The Musical, Cinderella, is being held at Queensland Performing Arts Centre this February from the 19th to 24th.
27th February: Passenger
Passenger comes to Brisbane Riverstage this February 28th to share his incredible music.
