Brazilian Carnival           6th August 2016

2016 Gold Coast Multicultural Festival   7th August 2016

Broadbeach Jazz Weekend          20- 21st August 2016

The Broadbeach Jazz Weekend is coming, and it is all completely free! The weekend will incorporate an expanded entertainment offering and family friendly vibe featuring outdoor stages and venues and a host of roving street entertainment, markets and more.

SUNSHINE COAST

Sunshine Coast  Ocean Regatta               19th – 21st August 2016

This years’ Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta will be held on the sparkling coastal waters off the Sunshine Coast between Caloundra and Noosa. Located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Mooloolaba offers a beautiful climate with great sailing conditions year round. It is an ideal location for a sailing holiday, family vacation, a quiet weekend away or a great place to escape to. Sunshine Coast Marathon          19th – 21st August 2016

The 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Run Festival is an annual running event in August with full 42km marathon, 21km half marathon, and 10km, 5km & 2km fun run events along a scenic beachfront course.

The Cricks Onesie Fun Run is held on the Friday evening before the Sunday main event and takes “competitors” through the event precinct and expo at dusk for two laps of mayhem and fun.

BRISBANE

EKKA     5th-14th August 2016

The Royal Queensland Show, or Ekka as it’s most commonly known, is Queensland’s largest annual event. Held over ten full days, Ekka showcases life and achievements in the Sunshine State, bringing visitors from all across Queensland and Australia to the heart of Brisbane. Ekka began in 1876, attracting 17,000 visitors to the grounds and is now Queensland’s most celebrated event with an average attendance of 400,000 visitors annually. 2016 marks the 139th show and brings with it a variety of best talent, culture, produce, fun and entertainment.

Unearth Queensland’s Best food, animals and entertainment at this year’s Royal Queensland Show, Ekka, from August 5th to 14th 2016. A classic Queensland tradition for all ages to enjoy and remember.

League of Legends Oceanic Pro League Final 2016           13th August

League of Legends will be holding the biggest e-sports event to ever hit Brisbane on 13 August at the Courier-Mail Piazza – the 2016 OPL Grand Final.

Pre-event activities will begin at 2pm, including pro-player signings, a dunk tank, photo opportunities and a community stage, which will showcase some of Australia’s best League of Legends cosplayers.

Starting at 5.30pm, Oceania’s two best e-sports teams will then battle it out in a best-of-five showdown in front of over 2,000 spectators and tens of thousands of fans online for the chance to progress to the World Championship Qualifiers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The VW Polo Los Loosa at Fig Tree Pocket          20th August

Polo Los Loosa is the garden party of the season. It’s a VIP event tied to the sport of polo, with stunning polo ponies ridden by some of the best polo players from around the world.

Saturday 20 August will see the champagne flowing, the beats pumping and the polo playing all day. Among the marquees and the open fields, Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian fields will play host to the most fashionable event of the polo season.
