To make planning your getaway from the Mooloolaba Tri as easy as possible, we have put together everything you need to know below!

When: 10 March – 12 March 2017

Where: The Esplanade, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast Queensland

Where to stay: The Sunshine Coast boasts a number of beautiful resorts, however, during the triathlon, Mooloolaba is a high volume, high traffic, high wait time type area. To make the most of the beauty and amenities the Sunshine Coast has to offer, we recommend staying just outside of the heart of Mooloolaba, in Caloundra. Only a short 20-minute drive, Caloundra features the beachfront ULTIQA Shearwater Resort, with breathtaking views and access to the most magnificent coastline.

Featuring ultramodern, boutique, self-contained apartments, ULTIQA Shearwater Resort will provide triathletes with kitchen facilities for pre race meal preparation. Removed from the major crowds of Mooloolaba, you are sure to get a great nights rest and still make it to the starting line with plenty of time to spare. Make the most of a getaway to the Sunshine Coast by staying across from King’s Beach and enjoying the quieter hot spots in Caloundra! Be sure to book quickly, rooms are already filling up with spectators and athletes alike. For more information and to secure your apartment, visit http://www.shearwaterresort.com.au

Getting there: The fastest and easiest way to get from ULTIQA Shearwater Resort to the starting line of the Mooloolaba Triathlon is driving. Public transportation options are available; please just ask the friendly front desk staff for timetables.

What to bring: LYCRA, LYCRA, AND MORE LYCRA! If you are competing, be sure to bring comfortable race clothes, a water bottle, a hat, and of course, SUNSCREEN. Remember to slip, slop, slap when exposed to the gorgeous sand and sun on the Sunshine Coast. For spectators, bring lightweight tops and shorts for daytime and casual, cool clothes for the evening hours. A jacket for early morning starts and evening entertainment is a must.
