I’m going on a picnic

This classic memory alphabet game is fun for all ages and can be played with only two players. Although it’s certainly more fun, the more that get involved. Starting at the beginning of the alphabet the first player says “I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing…” something that begins with A, such as apples. The second player repeats what the first person said, but adds something that begins with B. So she might say “I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing apples and bananas.” And so on. If someone forgets an item, he/she is out. To be fair, feel free to be lenient and give hints to younger players. The last player to be able to recite all the items on the list wins.

I Spy

This easy-to-learn game is perfect for young players and will keep them entertained for long periods of time. The directions are simple: One person spies something and recites the line “I spy with my little eye,” ending in a clue. Everyone else takes a turn trying to guess the mystery item. The winner becomes the next spy.

Yes or No

Player One thinks of a person, place or thing. Everyone else takes a turn asking questions that can be answered with a simple yes or no. After each answer, the questioner gets one guess. Play continues until a player guesses correctly.

Tic Tac Toe

unnamed

All you need are two players, a pencil and paper to play this popular game. Player One places an X on the grid, Player Two plots an O. They continue to take turns until one player has three across.

License Plate Game

Pick a number plate that drive past and use the letters of the number plate to start the game. For example, WBD. Each player in the car has to think of an animal that starts with each letter. For example, Wolf, Bear, Deer. The next player might say Whale, Bird, Dog. If one player cannot come up with an animal, they have to sit out. The one who continues the longest wins.

We wish you safe travels and loads of fun!
